Sunday March 8th,
Phoenix Park and Dublin Zoo
Today we went for a walk in Phoenix Park. It is Europe's largest park and is located just around the corner from our place. Inside the park is where the national Garda (Irish police) headquarters is located as well as the presidents house and the Wellington monument. We haven't found the Garda or the presidents house yet, so we still have more exploring to do at the park. But here are some pictures!
Phoenix Park:
Wellington Monument:
We aren't to sure what the monument is for. But we will let you know! its huge. and we can see it from outside our apartment!
On the other side of the Park is Dublin's National Zoo. Its a lot smaller then our zoo, but they have some great animals. It must have been a lucky day because all of the animals seemed to come up close to the glass for us. Dave got some really great pictures!
Looks like you guys are having so much fun! Can't wait to see more pics and hear about your travels! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you two made it safe and sound. I'm looking forward to hearing what you're up to. By the way, great pictures of the zoo animals--I especially like the 3 little guys who look like they're dancing! What are those things, anyway?
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell are those things in the 6th picture down? They looke like Timmone from The Lion King, only bigger.
ReplyDeleteThose little guys were Lemmers. It was starting to get a little rainy and cold and we found them in their little hut under a heat lamp and it looked like they were all meditating trying to keep warm. It was pretty funny looking!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what thoughs little guys were too. All i know was that they were in Madagazgar... LOL.....Its a great picture! they look pretty funny, like they are all dancing!
